Colorful Hearts Recalled Because of Choking Hazard

Build-A-Bear Workshop has issued a voluntary recall of 300,000 Colorful Hearts Bears after laboratories discovered that substandard fabrics were used during production. The bears are created in a Chinese factory. The choking hazard is a result of the bear’s eyes, which can be easily pulled from the fabric.

No injuries have been reported. It is the third recalls from Build-A-Bear this year. Earlier this month, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission fined the company for not reporting injuries that resulted after children’s fingers were pinched in a miniature lawn chair sold at the store. In another incident, Love Hugs Peace pins were recalled after it was revealed that lead based paint was used during production.
