The driver of a stolen vehicle was sentenced to one year in prison and three years probation after pleading guilt to felony hit and run causing death and other charges. Armando Figueroa, 36, was driving his stolen ex-girlfriend’s car when he fatally hit Teresa Marquez, 18.

Cases for hit and run deaths involving alcohol carry much stiffer penalties. Figueroa was not driving under the influence and had no previous criminal record in San Diego.
