Kaiser Doctor Accused of Molesting A Female Patient

A Kaiser Permanente-Montebello family doctor was accused this week of molesting a female patient. Dr. Arturo Vargas turned himself in after being charged with sexual exploitation by a physician, battery by fraud, and sexual penetration by a foreign object. He was released on $200,000 bond.

The arrest is a result of charges by a female patient that Dr. Vargas molested her during an examination. Authorities have not released details of the charge,or the  identity of the patient.

Dr. Vargas graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 2002 and is board certified in the specialty of family medicine. He has been practicing medicine at Kaiser Permenante-Montebello since 2005.

Kaiser Permanente policy is to remove a physician until the investigation is complete.
