The California Medical Board revoked the license of David Mata earlier this month. Mata has been charged with 48 felony counts as a result of a three year long investigation into his practice. He was originally accused of sexual abuse by 12 patients, some minors, but after investigation only 4 patients cases will move forward.

The clear and convincing evidence established that Dr. Mata engaged in sexual misconduct with several female patients and conducted himself in a generally unprofessional manner. The outright revocation of Dr. Mata’s license is the only measure of discipline that will protect the public. [Source]
According to his website, Mata attended the University of Minnesota Medical School. His trial is expected to start in June.
