According to a report by The San Diego Union Tribune the city of San Diego will receive $774,000 of an $8.7 million settlement from paint manufacturers.
The City Attorney’s Office announced Thursday the city would receive roughly $774,000 from Millenium Holdings, a Maryland-based manufacturer that is one of several companies accused of marketing and promoting the use of lead pigment in paints in California despite knowing the harmful side effects lead can cause. The money will be used primarily to fund lead paint abatement efforts. [Source]
Litigation is still ongoing in several other cases against Millenium Holdings.
