California Highway Patrol officials are [investigating] a weekend crash in Riverside that left three men dead after a Jaguar drove the wrong way on a freeway off-ramp and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, a CHP officer tried to stop the 2003 Jaguar for a traffic violation on Interstate 215 when the vehicle sped off. The driver drove up an off-ramp to the 60 Freeway and hit a 2010 Nissan Frontier pickup head-on.
Both the driver and the passenger in the Jaguar were killed. The passenger in the pickup was killed and the driver sustained severe injuries.
