Walnut Teen Hit and Killed by Drunk Driver

Maximillion Infinity Petrakos, 13, was struck and killed on the Pomona Freeway while standing next to a disabled car early Sunday morning. Tina Silva, 28, was arrested at the scene for drunk driving.

“The boy was fatally struck by a 2012 Honda Civic as he stood with a woman beside a disabled car early Sunday morning.

The 41-year-old driver of the disabled car suffered major injuries, and a 10-year-old boy inside had moderate injuries, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Tina Silva, 28, of Hacienda Heights, was booked on suspicion of drunken driving minutes after the crash. She had driven off the freeway at the Seventh Street exit but was tracked down by police, said CHP Officer Monica Posada.

The crash in westbound lanes east of Seventh Avenue was reported at 12:41 a.m. Sunday, she said, adding that Silva was headed westbound and driving around 60 miles per hour when her car drifted on to the right shoulder and struck the two people standing besides the disabled Corolla.

The 13-year-old boy died at the scene.” Walnut Patch, 4 June 2012.
