Ferrari is the latest automaker to be affected by defective airbag recalls this year. Last month the company recalled 2,600 of their 2015 models due to airbag defects.
The airbags, manufactured by Takata Corp., have been either deploying unexpectedly or failing to deploy in actual accidents. The Ferrari models being recalled are as follows: 458 Italia, 458 Speciale, California T, FF, F12berlinetta and LaFerrari.
So far, over 33 million cars with defective airbags have been recalled in the U.S. from automakers including Ford, GM, Toyota, Chrysler, BMW, Nissan, Honda, and multiple other manufacturers. Six people have been killed and over a hundred have been injured due to Takata airbag defects.
This is not the first time Ferrari has been forced to recall vehicles in the past year though. In September of last year, the company recalled its 458 model because a defect in a latch could result in a person getting trapped in the trunk.
It is unclear whether or not more cars will be recalled due to these defects, but you can stay updated atSafercar.gov
